Synology Surveillance365 VSaaS

Surveillance365 is Synology’s new cloud-first video surveillance platform that combines Synology Cameras, on-camera storage, and C2 cloud services into a single, easy-to-manage VSaaS solution.

What is Surveillance365?

Surveillance365 is a cloud-based video management system designed to centrally manage Synology Cameras across one or many sites without needing an on-premises NVR or server. Video is recorded to a Synology microSD card in each camera and can be backed up to Synology’s C2 cloud for extra protection and longer retention.

Core benefits for businesses

  • Simple deployment: Connect a Synology Camera, insert a Synology microSD card, then add the device via the Surveillance365 web portal or mobile app in just a few steps, without installing local servers or VMS software.
  • Seamless scalability: Cameras are organized by “sites” and layouts, so you can expand from a single shop to many branches while keeping centralized control and role-based access.
  • Strong security: Footage is protected with a C2 Encryption Key known only to the customer, MFA options, detailed system logs, and C2 data centers certified under ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II.
  • Reliable performance: If the cloud path is unstable, Failover Offline mode automatically switches to local streaming, while cameras keep recording to the microSD card so monitoring and evidence are not lost.

How Surveillance365 works

  • Cloud-managed architecture: All camera configuration, monitoring layouts, alerts, and user permissions are managed from the Surveillance365 web portal or app, allowing admins to work from anywhere.
  • Edge recording and backup: Cameras continuously record to Synology microSD cards (typically 2–3 weeks on 256 GB), and recordings are then backed up to C2 Storage Advanced according to schedules and bandwidth limits.
  • Bandwidth optimization: Peer-to-peer streaming on the local network, low-bandwidth mode (roughly halving bitrate on 5 MP models), and scheduled backup windows help keep WAN usage under control.

Smart features and AI analytics

  • Built-in edge AI: Synology Cameras with Surveillance365 support people and vehicle detection, intrusion detection, and loitering detection directly on the camera for faster alerts and easier evidence search.
  • Intelligent monitoring: The Monitor Center shows multi-camera layouts, lets users zoom, scrub the timeline, jump to detection events, and download specific clips for investigations.
  • Notifications and history: Push and email alerts can be scheduled so that important events are sent to mobile devices, while Event History and System History provide an audit trail of detections and connection changes.

Camera lineup and ideal use cases

  • Synology Camera models: Bullet (BC510), turret (TC510), and cube (CC410W) cover outdoor/indoor, PoE, and Wi-Fi scenarios, all with on-camera AI analytics and support for Surveillance365 and Synology microSD cards.
  • Best-fit scenarios: Multi-site retailers, franchises, remote or temporary locations, EV charging stations, and small to mid-sized businesses that want plug-and-play cloud surveillance without dedicated on-site IT or NVR hardware.
